# aYOUne Desktop Client — Overview

The aYOUne Desktop Client is a native application for Windows, macOS and Linux. It runs in its own window — not in the browser — and provides capabilities a browser cannot offer.

## What you can do with it

- **Print from any device** — a printer connected to your desktop becomes available to the mobile app and your team.
- **Sync files** like OneDrive: a folder on your machine mirrors content from aYOUne in both directions.
- **Read and write NFC cards and YubiKeys** — for employee logins, door access or machine identification.
- **Scan barcodes and QR codes** with a camera or handheld scanner.
- **Calls, video, screen sharing and team chat** — directly in the desktop window.
- **External messages** from WhatsApp, Telegram, Instagram, Facebook and Slack in one shared inbox.
- **System notifications** even when the browser is closed — push toasts, sound, tray icon.
